Dong Sung organizes the Sun-Kyu Lee Pharmaceutical Award to invest company profits into Korean social and educational programs, and to encourage medical and pharmaceutical research. The first award is granted to Professors Seo Yung Joon and Seo Yung Ger of the College of Pharmacy, Seoul National University for their research of develping natural pain killers (analgesics). Chairman Sun-Kyu Lee publishes his memoir, “How to End Poverty.”1998

Under license from QP Corporation, Japan, Dong Sung begins producing functional food "Chicorin" for the prevention of dementia.2000
